Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has launched its 2024 call for applications for two fellowship programmes in Berlin. These programmes are open to journalists living in regimes restricting freedom of the press and the right information.
The Reporters Without Borders (RSF) German section annually offers two fellowships open to journalists living in places with restricted freedom of the press and right to information. The fellowship programmes welcome the selected candidates to Berlin for a time period of up to six months. Are now open for applications the Rest & Resilience Fellowship and the Reporting Fellowship:
- The Rest & Resilience Fellowship is a joint programme run by RSF and the taz Panter Foundation. During their stay, media professionals at risk can take some time off from their daily obligations in order to recover from their difficult working conditions, and expand their personal and professional horizons. - The Reporting Fellowship is focused on producing journalistic work. The selected candidates can create a new project, or continue to work on and complete an existing one. The project can span various media (visual, audio, or writing) and should be realisable within the set time frame of up to six months. The application deadline for both programmes is 19 November 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (CET).
The projected fellowship residence in Berlin would be from 1 May to 31 October 2024.
