Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is offering the next round of the Rest and Refuge Fellowship programme, a 6-month package designed for journalists from countries where press freedom is restricted.

Taking place since 2015, the Rest and Refuge Fellowship programme is a joint project of Reporters Without Borders Germany and the taz Panter Foundation which aims to grant two journalists a six-month sabbatical to recover from difficult working conditions and to further their professional and personal development.

The scholarship, six months long in total, will cover travel costs, insurance, provide a monthly allowance, accommodation, and free use of public transportation in Berlin. It also offers training and workshops in digital safety, language classes, and therapy sessions. The programme will take place from May 1 to October 31 2023. (Dates may be subject to change due to COVID19 regulations).

Please submit your application before Monday, 10 December 2022 at 23:59 (Central European Time) on RSF Germany’s website.
